Trace Elemental Analysis Educational Week - Webinars
New to trace elemental analysis or in need of refreshing your knowledge? Then join our European trace elemental analysis application specialists for a week of educational and interesting resentations about trace element analysis technology and tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your instruments. Each session lasts 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of interactive Q and A. The presentations will not be vendor specific and will be relevant regardless of which trace elemental analysis instruments you use in your laboratory.
Over the course of the week we will be covering the following topics and content:
Monday 20th of July - Trace Elemental Analysis – A guide to sample preparation and measurement:
- Sample prep – Dilution, hot block, microwave
- Data analysis – Semi quant, External Cal, Internal standards and Method of standard addition
- Which technique to utilise AAS , ICP-OES , ICP-MS – Element capability, limits of detection, linear range and matrix tolerance
Tuesday 21st July - Separation and detection – The fundamentals and benefits of ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments
- Forming an Inductively Coupled Plasma – RF generator , Spectrometer Interface
- Optical Emission Spectroscopy – Excitation and emission, Radial and axial view, optical designs, echelle grating, detector
- Mass Spectroscopy- ionisation , sample interface, collision reaction cell , quadrupole mass analyser, ion detection
Wednesday 22nd July - ICP-MS : Comparison of single quadrupole, triple quadrupole and high resolution technology
- Benefits o utilising triple quadrupole over single quadrupole systems
- High resolution and multi collector technology
- Time of flight technology
